課程概述 |
實證研究在國際關係研究上一直具有舉足輕重的地位，許多近年來熱門的研究議題，從軍備競賽、談判、嚇阻、民主和平、國際建制、國際規範、軍備裁減等等，都是由很多嚴謹的實證結果做為基礎，而後才驅動理論更進一步的發展。也因為如此，一位好的國際關係研究者必須要能看得懂實證研究的文獻，而這門課就是在培養同學們理解國際關係實證理論的基礎。 |

課程目標 |
由於本課程重視基礎訓練，特別是在技巧上能夠掌握讀懂實證理論文章的訣竅，因此焦點並不放在文獻回顧上，而是細膩的精讀某些經典文章。為達成這個目的，每一週會指定一篇期刊論文，由每位同學撰寫一頁的讀書報告，內容格式將在第一週上課時另行說明，除此之外，期末尚需繳交一篇期末報告。 |

課程的計分如下：每週讀書報告60%，期末報告30%，出席及討論佔10%。 |
